Kelly Norris

Description: In this era of purposeful and thoughtful gardening, planting is a powerful verb. Planting gardens inspired by nature promotes authentic connections with land, environment and humanity.

Why not make a garden that works and looks good doing it?

Landscapes at home and in the public realm can be beautiful and ecologically functional if we deepen our understanding of plants and place.

In this lecture, especially tailored to garden enthusiasts with examples from around the world, plantsman and author Kelly Norris challenges audiences to plant the world a more beautiful, functional place.

Uli Lormier - Garden in the Woods: An ecological native plant garden

Increasingly, gardeners are recognizing that gardens can be more than just pretty. Our gardens are connected with each other and with nearby natural spaces. The choices we make matter because of the way they affect local wildlife in a myriad of ways.

At Native Plant Trust, we champion ecological horticulture, blending aesthetics with ecological value by using regionally appropriate native plants. This session will explore the underlying ethic and philosophy behind our approach and how it can be applied in other regions of the world.

The LIVE presentation will be held online on June 29th, 2022 at 3:00PM EST (details will be provided after registration).

There will be opportunities to ask questions during the live session. Afterwards, a replay link will be provided to allow attendees to rewatch at their leisure.
